This was the twelfth Bond book; the 1967 film with Sean Connery was loosely based on this story (very loosely -- it was the first Bond film to depart so drastically from the book -- only keeping bits and pieces). This follows On Her Majesty's Secret Service; these two delve deeper into Bond's emotions than Fleming's other Bond titles. Way back when I first read the series, I was moved by these two and they remain my favorites. 8vo (8.5 inches tall) 240 pages. Light red endpapers.
