An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and tight with a little bumping at the extremities. The contents with the ownership signature and date of poet, author and founder of Toronto's Harbourfront Author Festival Greg Gatenby to the front endpaper, are clean and bright throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper. Not price-clipped ($9.95 to the front flap). Scarce in signed state. Inscribed by the author in blue ink on the title page "John Le Carré / for / Greg - / 24.X.'96 / Toronto". The author's first novel, introducing George Smiley.
