This book is exactly what I was looking for. Based on first-hand experience. Published in 1978, but includes many of the preliminary upgraded equipment standards and their uses. Very informative, and nothing is left out. Subject matter includes: entering the industry, schools and education options, equipment, rigging, welding/burning, explosives, safety tips (priceless), mixed gas diving, Navy decompression tables, saturation diving, diving from a pipline barge, diving from an oil rig, divers unions, tales of survival, much more... A good read.
