Van Deusen of Rensselaer County, New York and dated 1849-50. Included are receipt of pills, ointments, tinctures, lozenges, snuff, and digestives using natural ingredients and the oils of many plants and barks of trees. Van Deusen's remedies reflect the afflictions experience in country life, including cures for rheumatism, piles, stomach ache, cuts and abrasions, female obstructions, constipation, cough and skin problems.
