Indianapolis, Indiana: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1928. Dust jacket has several area of paper loss, including spine extremities, bottom of front cover, corners of rear panel. Dust jacket spine is sunned to tan. See photos for extent. Front cover onlay is quite clean and sharp. Top and bottom of spine show sunning corresponding to paper loss on the dust jacket. Rear cover green color shows a few splotches. See photo. Plain white endpapers with some toning at jacket turn-ins. Occasional peripheral foxing of a few pages only. This edition does not have a color title-page. There are eight full-page color plates through the text with additional black and white illustrations and chapter heads. According to Greene-Hanff 1, this appears to be a "fifth edition" from the late 1920's. The last plate has the misprint of "cup" for "cap". The book was shortened to 208pp. after 1920. 208pp..
