Los Angeles: Christian Nationalist Crusade, 1947. Later printing. Black, stapled wrappers (5 ¼" x 7 ¾"), 30 pp. Light wear and rubbing to wrappers, penciled name inside front cover. Under the pseudonym Mr. X, far right demagogue, Gerald L. K. Smith, investigates the mysterious circumstances of Franklin Roosevelt's death, which he bases on Eleanor Roosevelt's refusal to allow the President to lie in state. Smith contends that FDR had many reasons to commit suicide and that he was haunted by nine ghosts: the Tyler Kent affair, the "mystery" of Pearl Harbor, the Japanese offer to surrender before Okinawa, the assassination of Huey P. Long, the appeasement of the Comintern, lend lease, bargaining in human slaves, the destruction of food commodities (planned scarcity in the face of world famine), and false promises concerning the possibility of war. A loose 5" x 3 ½" insert contends that de-classified reports concerning FDR and the Jews suggest that he reversed his attitude toward international Jewry and Zionism right before his death, which only adds to the mystery. This "resurrected" report appears to have been reprinted in 1957, a decade after it was initially issued.
