Boston: M. Barrows & Company; [Thomas Todd Company, Printers], 1932. Octavo (21 x 14 cm.), 70 pages. Index to recipes at rear. FIRST EDITION. One of the more elusive titles from the cookbook author and chronicler of country life, Della Lutes (1867-1942). Lutes, originally from Michigan, was a prolific author, and editor at American Motherhood, Table Talk, Modern Priscilla and other magazines. Her cookbook and memoir, Country Kitchens (1936) is a classic of American home cooking. Some very light toning or soil to a few leaves. Pencil annotation in margin of one page. Publisher's black cloth with red paper title label pasted down on front panel. Very good, in a black and red printed yellow dust jacket; jacket chipped at head and foot of spine, but still attractive. Scarce in general and doubly so in the dust jacket.
