[7], x-lvi, [1], 2-723, [3]; [6], x-lxxxv, [4], 2-530, [2] pp. Contemporary smooth calf with twin gilt rules on the boards, spines in six compartments, with a red and green morocco label lettered in gilt on the spines; all edges marbled. Marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Title pages printed in red and black. Volume one illustrated with a steel-engraved frontispiece and with two folding plates; volume two illustrated with a folding frontispiece, (a facsimile of Ralegh's handwriting printed in red) and with a double-page plate, a facsimile of a letter written by Raleigh.
