Howard Munson: "The Bauhaus opened its theatre workshop in 1921 under the direction of Lothar Schreyer. Walter Gropius saw the theatre as a legitimate component of Bauhaus defining it as the concrete embodiment of a synthesis to the arts. It was amid this climate of change that Oskar Schlemmer was put in charge of the theatre workshop where he designed many of the costumes as in 'The Triadic Ballet', 1922. It is this era of theater that inspired me to create my own imaginary theater.
