About This Item
This baseball star pitched for NINE teams from his debut with the San Francisco Giants in 1962 and retirement from the Kansas City Royals in 1983 in a colorful, controversial, award-studded career that finished with election to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991. Big and bold signature in blue ballpoint on a heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., n.y. Fine. He signs it "Gay Perry," using the shortened first name form he seldom employed. With original transmittal envelope, whose postal cancellation from San Francisco on 16 September 1971 dates it to early in his fabled career and the end of the first of his many team affiliations. A choice early exemplar.
