Np: Bank of America, 1959. First printing. Staplebound Wraps. Near Fine. Square staplebound stiff wraps. 8 x 8". 52 pgs. Small bend to lower edge of cover else clean. Black wraps with silver and colorful number design. Interior with interesting uncredited colorful design. 6-59 inside front cover. Booklet designed for bank personal explaining the revolutionary computer system of accounting. One of the first commercial uses of electronic data processing. Developed by Stanford Research Institute and built by General Electric and first tested in San Jose for the Bank of America. In 1959 the first 32 units were delivered in California and this beautifully designed booklet explains in simple terms how it works. ERMA weighed 25 tons and had 8000 vacuum tubes and used 80 KW of power. It revolutionised the banking industry and it was the beginning of electronic banking. Rare. No copies found on OCLC.
