.Arion Gesangverein (German Choir or singing club) was a German American musical organization founded in 1850. The American Velvet Company opened a Stonington plant in 1888, hiring many German immigrants; these workers formed the Arion Singing Society in 1894, bought their own clubhouse in 1909, and incorporated in 1911.
This broadside, completely handwritten in ink, appears to be from the turn of the century; 2 columns, divided into sections, each with its own subsections. Approx. 22 x 28 inches. Edges chipped, including some text lower right; folds and creases, some starting to split.
