Universal City: Universal Pictures, 1993. Early Draft script for the 1993 film. Laid in with the script is a five page production document pertaining to casting, with holograph ink annotations to the verso of the final page, noting a to-do list and brief timetable.

Based on Edwin Torres' 1975 novel "Carlito's Way" and its 1979 sequel "After Hours," following a Puerto Rican inmate who finds it difficult to escape his criminal past after being released from prison.

A very early draft for the film, which was originally intended to be directed by Leon Ichaso, produced by Elliott Kastner, and star Marlon Brando alongside Al Pacino. In 1989, Kastner sued Pacino for six million dollars, claiming the actor had gone back on an agreement to star in Kastner's version of the film. The suit was eventually dropped, leading Pacino to pursue an adaptation of Torres' novels separately.
