Paris and Rome: Les films Ariane and Filmsonor, 1961. Original French production script and press material for the 1962 film, here under the original French title, "Les Titans". The film was distributed by Cinedis, and this script was likely used by Cinedis during production, with press materials printed on the company's stationery. Housed in manilla folder, noted as "LES TITANS" on the front. The king of Crete, Cadmos (Armendariz) murders his wife so he can carry on an affair with lover Ermione (Lualdi). They deal with the Devil and, by way of mystical vapors, become nearly invincible.. Cadmos enslaves his own daughter, and things get out of hand. Generally considered among the best of the Italian Peplum (sword-and-sandal) films, showcasing both cyclopedian monsters and early elements of what would become known as Blaxploitation. Draft script in blue titled wrappers, noted as LES TITANS on the front wrapper. Title page present, with credits for screenwriters Tessari and Concini. 169 leaves, with last page of text numbered 168. Ditto-style mimeograph duplication. Pages and wrapper Near Fine, side-stitched. Press material includes Cinedis press packet, dated October 31, 1961, synopsis, credits, and cast and crew biographies, Very Good plus overall, corner-stitched. Complete collation upon request.
