February 22, 1777 letter written by Captain Benjamin Haskell, at Dorchester Height's Mass, to Captain Jonas Hartsell, of Lincoln, Mass. Haskell writes that he is creating the numbers for the general orders, and need to know if Hartsell plans to serve in the Army for the month of March, 1777. I send mr Thorning up to you to know if you will stay the next month. Pray be so good as to send him down early Monday morning, that I may know what to do. I must make this return by noon. Hartsell's reply was as follows: Brother Captain. I should be glad if you would send down a horse by Thorning for me to ride upon as I have obtained leave from the Col to leave the camp/ Jonas Hartsell
