Archive of letters from the Hal Roach Studios archive, all relating to the promotion of the studio's wildly popular "Our Gang" series of shorts and films, all circa 1937 14 letters in all, dated throughout 1937. Very nice content, all addressed to the Hal Roach Studio, addressing every manner of promotion relating to "Our Gang". Over half the letters involve a proposed promotion of "Ski-Skoots" roller skates, a pair of "skis" that have roller skate wheels mounted below them, allowing kids to "ski" in the summer on roller skates. Other letters include a proposed promotion by the Des Moines Herald that puts the "gang" around the dinner table at Thanksgiving, a letter praising the pro-Yankee stance of "General Spanky" (1936), and others. Finally, there are two outgoing letters (office carbons), including a very interesting letter summarizing the contracts and pay scales for the 6 children in the series. All letters 8.5 x 11 inches, typescript and carbon typescript, non-carbon letters all on original letterhead. Very Good or better overall, pages supple.
