Loosely based on African folklore stories compiled and adapted by Joel Chandler Harris in the nineteenth century. A young boy visits his grandmother's plantation during the postwar Reconstruction era in the American south, where he befriends an African American plantation worker nicknamed Uncle Remus. A controversial release, considered by many to be offensive due to its stereotypical portrayal of African Americans, questionable use of Black vernacular, and idyllic portrait of plantation life.
Pressbook 28 pages, side stapled. 8.5 x 11 inches. About Very Good plus, with faint foxing on the edges.
