How do I import the inventory file I downloaded from Biblio into BiblioDirector?

Return to what I was doing

If you want to import the inventory you currently have on Biblio.com, first you will want to request an inventory download. Email bookseller-support@biblio.com with a request for a  BiblioDirector inventory export. We'll generate that export and then send you an email containing a link that you may use to download that file.

Once you have downloaded the inventory file we have provided, be sure to save it on your desktop, or another location on your computer where it will be easy to find later.  The file will be "zipped" or "compressed" for transfer, and the file name will end with ".zip".  Double-click on the file name to un-zip it. A second file with then appear, and that file name will end with ".txt".  The ".txt" version is the one that you will choose for import (it can also be opened using a spreadsheet program).

Open your copy of BiblioDirector and click on the "Items" tab. Please note, clicking on "Add New Item" and "Show Inventory List" will also get you to the tools you need.  You will see some additional menus appear at the top of your computer screen called "Special" and "Records".

Click on Records > Advanced > First time Import from Biblio. A separate window will come up which asks you to "Please be sure you have a Biblio.com generated file to import before continuing." As long as you have your file from Biblio, click on "Continue".

A window will come up which allows you to choose the file from your computer that you want to import. Select the file downloaded from Biblio and the import process will begin.   It should only take a few moments to import smaller files. For larger inventory files it may take a few minutes to complete the import.

You can also export your complete inventory file from your current software and get that file converted into a format which may be directly imported into BiblioDirector.  Click here for the conversion tool.

I was delighted with my order and your service. The book arrived in time for the occasion that I needed it for. I was thrilled to be able to find an out-of-print copy.
