Inscribed by the author on the front free endsheet: "for Uncle Don with love from Pete Columbus December 21, 1959. I recently met the author of 'When It's Spring time in the Rockies,' and I told her that I have a brother and an uncle who used to sing it beautifully." Taylor has added an explanatory note at a later date: "Uncle Don was my father's brother and live at our home for several years and used to laugh at my brother's rendition of 'When It's Spring time' Peter T."
