Marbled edges. . Two volumes, octavo. With thirty-two plates and thirty-two textual illustrations by Marcus Stone. Binding extremities lightly rubbed with a few minor chips to spine and boards. Spine slightly toned. Very minor foxing. A very good copy. Anthony Trollope's (1815-1882) He Knew He Was Right is a tragic work, which is about the failing marriage of an unreasonably jealousy husband and his stubborn, headstrong wife. Throughout the book, Trollope makes constant allusions to Othello. As is common in his fiction, there are several substantial subplots and secondary characters. Though he considered it a creative failure, He Knew He Was Right is one of Trollope's most well-known novels.
Synopsis
He Knew He Was Right is a 1869 novel written by Anthony Trollope which describes the failure of a marriage caused by the unreasonable jealousy of a husband exacerbated by the stubbornness of a willful wife. As is common with Trollope's works, there are also several substantial subplots. Trollope makes constant allusions to Shakespeare's Othello throughout the novel.
