About This Item

New York City: Grosset & Dunlap, 1973. First Printing . Oversize Cloth with Dj.. Lavish biography by Norman Mailer on the great superstar Marilyn Monroe. Illustrated throughout with photographs by many famous photographers. There is a minor narrow "bump" on the front pastdown that was caused during the printing, and is lightly mirrored to the front endsheet and the first few pages of this nearly 300pg. book. Price clipped and the usual light tonning to the margins of the pages due to the cheap paper used and age, otherwise a nice tight vg+ copy.

Synopsis

In 1973, Norman Mailer published Marilyn , his celebrated in-depth account of the life of Marilyn Monroe, as a glossy, fully illustrated coffee-table tome. His work was immediately acclaimed - and an enduring bestseller, rumoured to have sold more copies than any of his other works except The Naked and the Dead .
