The covers are in very good condition, the printing and artwork are clear; there are a few very small smudge marks on the covers and some minor fading of the spine. The binding is solid. The interior pages are clean, with no writing or markings detected. The first six pages are creased a bit at the top corner. The most significant condition issue is the front free endpaper has been removed. The title, copyright and contents pages are all present. The book contains many illustrations drawn by Lucretia Leonard Romey and an Appendix written by Joan Spence Kepes. Chapter titles include "The French and Indian Wars A Tale of Two North Countrymen" and "The Adirondacks The Trees and The Tourists".
