Where did you grow up?
I was born in East Virginia, North Carolina I did go....
If you could trade places with any fictional character, who would it be?
Oh, none...my life is pretty darned magical. Since I prefer to read high drama, convoluted fantasy tales, and twisted tragedies, I wouldn't trade my own Main Character position for anything.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I love playing in my garden, geeking out with tabletop gaming, brewing meads and making cordials, playing with herbs and plants, walking in the woods and fields and talking to animals and trees!
If you could have everyone in the world read one book/poem/play/essay, what would it be?
I wish that everyone in the world could pick up Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass and feel the torrential tug of emotions that it brings me, even only with the first few lines. His is the sort of poetry that makes me want to hold everyone I love in a joyous, tearful embrace, and remind them to revel in our fallible and fleeting lives.
I had a temper tantrum when I was three years old. My mother found me with a book in my lap, held upside down, and I was furious because I knew there was information in these scrawlings everywhere around me that I couldn't discern. I was reading by the time I was five, devouring fairy tales and folk songs by seven, Shakespeare and Lawrence Ferlinghetti by nine. Poetry, mythology, and song lyrics make my world go 'round...tell me a story and I'll love you forever.
