This is a very good+ copy and is the 1st issue of the first edition with a single advertising leaf at the back of the book.There is some light rubbing on the base of the spine and some light staining on the front cover. The interior is in excellent condition with only some slight age tanning on the edges of the pages. The pages are clean, without tears, marks, bends or stains. The binding is excellent and the pages are intact and square. The frontispiece still has it's tissue guard.This copy has a small blue tag on the inside front cover "Henry J. Smith, Stationer & Bookseller, 80 Kings Rd., Brighton" and a pasted down sales tag on the front free end paper. There is also a small tag on the inside back cover that reads "Maxwell O. Hunley, Rare Books, Los Angeles".
