With portrait of Bossuet by Petit after Rigault and different head-pieces. Text mainly in French, only volume 1, 16 and 17 text in Latin. Despite the defects to the bindings, still attractive set. The photograph shows an interesting set, but we have to mention the following imperfections: 1) all clasps gone; 2) foot and top spines partly damaged, of 1 spine leather of upper compartment gone; 3) 1 corner of 2nd volume damaged and cornerpiece missing; 4) leather of first hinge vol. 5 broken, but hinge still holding strong; 5) rubbed in places, with loss of layer of leather. - With 5 title-pages, printed in red and black, with large title-vignettes and engraved frontispiece "L.
