Toronto: Ryerson 1942, 1st Canadian Edition. (Hardcover) 396pp. Very good, no dust jacket. Blue cloth with yellow titles. Light wear at the tips of the corners and the top and bottom ends of the spine, a previous owner's inscription on the front endpaper, some stains on a few pages and edges, the untrimmed fore-edges show wear, a few pages have dog-ear creases, and on close inspection one can see that the back inner hinge has been repaired from the inside. New York: M. Walter Dunne 1904, Mazarine edition limited to 750 numbered sets. (Hardcover set) Very good plus. Full leather St. Dunstan bindings elegantly decorated in gilt, red and white. Decorated endpapers, top edges gilt, ribbon page markers, each volume with full-page illustrations and a hand-tinted frontispiece (all with decoratively captioned tissue guards). Certificate in the first volume. The spines unevenly but lightly faded, and the top of the spine of vol 3 has been torn and repaired. Still a handsome set. . Limited Edition. (Sets).
