Moderate fraying to spine ends, volume one; moderate bumping, wear to leading corner tips; quarter piece spotting to lower leading corner volume two. Clear tape repair to top half of rear hinge volume one. Light spreckled foxing to pastedowns and endpapers; volume one with remnants of bookplate removal, volume two with bookplate of William Wentworth Clapham. Volume two, shows some stress at gutter, page 63 causing some separation. Overall bindings solid, text pages and plates very clean. ; Black cloth, lettered & decorated in gilt; color frontis illus. Vol. 1, color frontis map Vol. 2; two colored maps in text, one folding; illustrated with 176 plates containing 310 color illustrations. ; tall 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 264 & 266 pages .
