The twelfth Lord Lovat, who had been a notorious Jacobite intriguer, was apprehended following the battle of Culloden, tried in Westminster Hall in 1746/7 , and beheaded on 9 April 1747. pp 180 . Internally in very good condition, modern quarter-leather binding. Quarter Leather. Very Good. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.

London: Benjamin Tooke, 1684. 30 pages (complete although there are no page numbers 9-12 presumably due to printer's error).Sir Samuel Barnardiston ( name having seemingly been mis-spelt by printer) was a whig politician , and director of the East India Company, who was involved in a number of legal cases.This trial was for an alleged libel contained in a private letter that Barnardiston wrote to an acquaintance in which he commented on the conviction of Algernon Sidney for High Treason. Although on conviction Barnardiston was fined £10,000 (and imprisoned until he had paid £6000) the judgement was reversed in 1689 by the House of Lords. Number 235 of 350 copies, signed by author, internally in fine condition - this copy seldom if ever read - binding firm - cover bright subject to slight scuffing to edge of boards. London: Charles Gilpin, 1848. pp iv + 512 + (12). Internally very good, owners signature, dated 1849, on fep, binding sound but cracking ( moderate) to hinges between inside covers and enpapers. The original decorative cloth cover is quite bright although there is significant fraying (about 4 cm) to the joins between top of spine and boards. . First Edition. Cloth. Internally fresh subject to slight browning, binding firm, blue boards a little marked with some wrinkles (look to be from production), spine a little sunned. Moderate wear to corners and extremities of spine.. First Edition. Cloth. Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

London: George Sawbridge, 1674. pp (22) + 107 + 183-429 . In addition to the frontispiece there are five folding plates. This copy is complete despite the jump in pagination after page 107 ; it corresponds with that in the British Library. Internally very good subject to moderate browning, some fraying to the fep and fairly inoffensive evidence of moisture to the edges of the first few leaves. Hinges cracked although binding still holding. Cover, which looks to be contemporary, rather worn. The boards scuffed with wear to the edges and corners.
