Jules Engel, 1973. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Remarkably scarce typographic art book by Engel, hailed as the inventor of modern animation for his work with Disney and UPA. From WorldCat listings, this is the 1973 first edition, predating the Philip Morris Studios imprint by a year. Correctly, according to the listing, it displays no bibliographic information. In VG/near-fine internal condition throughout, crisp, clean and bright on light cream stock. Unpaginated. Landscape 255 x 165mm. One page affected by a small paper fault which has produced a short crease. Bright white endpapers. Clean cream cloth with gilt titling to front. Very lightly bumped to bottom right corners. A 10 volume set of The K-H Newsletters including all issues from No.1 of 30th June 1936 to No. 259, 26th June 1941. Thus providing a complete weekly record of the period from rearmament to the mid Second World War. The analysis of King-Hall, playwright, submariner, and during the life of this newsletter, MP, is fascinating, circulated to subscribers (of which there were 602 at launch) and providing information and views from many parts of the Empire and beyond. 10 x uniform volumes bound in green cloth boards with bright gold titling. Some very light spotting to edges, but justifying 'near fine' condition. Volumes 1 to 7 signed by Steven King-Hall. Volume 8 includes apologetic note that "circumstances make it impossible for him to continue this practice". c.5Kg in weight so please enquire re postage.

The four Brangwyn plates clean and bright, complete with tissue guards. Brown cloth with bright black illustration to front and clean, compete spine label. d/j a little worn to edges with a couple of closed tears and small loss to spine where publisher's price label affixed. 78pp + publisher's ads to rear. Scarce.

London: Tadema Studios, 2012. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Fascinating, large format, beautifully illustrated account of Roy Ackerman's project to hang original contemporary art at the CUT restaurant and hotel at 45 Park Lane, part of the Dorchester. Featured artists include Peter Blake, Patrick Hughes, Joe Tilson, Brendan Neiland, Bruce Maclean and Damien Hurst. Much photography of them and their work. Signed on fep by Ackerman in typically ebullient style with the dedication "Happy days, lots of Everything". VG in VG d/j. Scarce

Kristiania: Carl C Werner & Komps, 1873. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Very scarce annual reports of the Society For The Preservation Of Norse Antiquities, for the years 1872 to 1877, bound as one volume. Complete with numerous plates, fold-out charts, diagrams, etc, some in colour. Norwegian language. In general good order throughout. Occasional foxing, but most of the contents clean, crisp and bright. Front endpaper split at hinge, but well bound and holding firm. Quarter black leather rather worn. Gilt banding to spine but no title. 8vo. 168, 164, 205, 270, 208, 296pp, + numerous plates, supplements, etc.

Title page lists printer but no publisher. Marbled endpapers split at hinges and thus a little shaken, but holding well. Red boards embossed with bright gilt title to front. Short title handwritten to spine. Boards rather worn and dulled to edges and spine. Two former owners' not unattractive signatures to title and (faintly) to first page. Grey paper covered boards with red cloth spine, likely contemporary, with remains of paper label to latter. Boards well worn, especially to corners. A nice copy. 8vo. 226pp

Pale green boards with gilt titling to spine a little worn. Unclipped dust jacket mis-aligned by a quarter of an inch and features a number of tape repairs which are well concealed from the outside but have failed to prevent a little chipping and wear to extremities. 12mo. 221pp

A superb copy of this exceptionally scarce crime novel, billed as "a drama of hate and sex and murder". All in VG internal order. Orange boards with smart black titling a little bumped. Unclipped d/j features a few small chips and tears as well as tape repairs to reverse which are generally well executed and only faintly visible from exterior, but is still rated 'fair' as a result. Minor fading to spine. 12mo. 212pp

Kyoto: Yamada Unsodo, 1903. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Furuya Korin. Exceptionally scarce Japanese design publication from the early 20th century. This issue from 1903, the third year of publication, features 20 full-page designs, all in colour and some with additional silver overprinting. Front cover (Japanese script) is a little stained. English language cover has (filing?) label attached and is heavily marked. Stock is occasionally lightly marked, but in general good clean and bright order. Stab binding with silk thread. Bibliographic information from best available translation (see photo of imprint, etc). 8vo. 24pp
