Shanghai: The Chinese-American Publishing Company, 1947, 1948, 1941. Hardcover . Used - very good. Volumes I and II in green buckram. “Notes” volume is green cloth over hello papered boards. Inscribed by Col. James W. Mosteller, Jr. to Lt. Commander W.A. Mosteller. Volume I Near Fine. Volume II Very Good with upper outside corner of front board creased with corresponding light split to front pastedown. “Notes” volume with moderate scuffing to covers including 5” thin scrape across front board affecting only one letter. All three volumes with clean text and in sturdy bindings. Very well-preserved with gilt lettering on the Junks volumes almost bright as new.

Used - near fine. 12mo.; 190pp.  Second American Edition (unauthorized edition; first thus, with new binding and translation), 'Fourteenth Thousand' with final leaf blank. Forest green ribbed cloth with gilt and black pictorial decorations.  'Fully illustrated by [Jules] Ferat'; tissue guarded frontispiece and 19 additional full page interior illustrations. Gilt exceptionally bright, contrasting well with fresh forest green cloth covers. Just a hint of staining to text block edges.  Light rubbing to cover extremities, primarily at the spine folds.  Tail of spine with about a 1/8' x 3/8' loss of cloth. The book is now covered with a removable mylar cover.

Octavo, 68pp. in stapled pale blue paper wrappers. This Corporation Report No. XIX (published in 1947) was part of a series directed by President Roosevelt to analyze the effect of air power and bombing raids during World War II to determine "future economic policies with respect to the national defense." Intelligence, Japanese air depot production graphs, location maps and lists of U.S. attacks against targets are described in detail. First Naval Air Depot (Kasumigaura), Eleventh, Twenty-first (Omura), and Koza Naval Air Depot, and Tachikawa Army Air Arsenal are all reported upon. Many maps and fold out graphs, all in fine condition. Includes a bibliography of survey reports (pg 64-65) "resulting from the Survey's studies of the European and Pacific wars". Some minor tanning to edges of paper wrappers and a barely noticeable fold line to front bottom right corner. Maps and interior without tears or markings.

Association Copy, Charlotte Turner Smith, The Emigrants, William Hayley Autograph, Thomas Campbell Autograph, William Pitt the Younger Autograph. VG. 85pp, plus 3 pages of ads (most recent dated 1810). 'Kent' watermark on first blank, 'G&RT' on title page. (Contemporary?) three-quarter red leather and swirl-patterned boards and endpapers, spine with four gilt-ruled raised bands and five compartments, four compartments with gilt decoration and fifth with gilt lettering. Binding strong, with slight spine lean, small patches of black stain to covers and a tiny nick to the leather at the front spine fold. All gilt is at least VG, and quite attractive married to the red leather.
