New York:: Random House,, 1971.. First Printing of the First Edition. A Near Fine copy with the usual touch of sunning to board edges in a Near Fine bright unclipped dust jacket with a short closed edge tear to the top edge of the front panel and a crease to the front flap. No names, writing, tears or chips to the jacket. The book is a roman à clef, rooted in autobiographical incidents. The story follows its protagonist, Raoul Duke, and his attorney, Dr. Gonzo, as they descend on Las Vegas to chase the American Dream through a drug-induced haze, all the while ruminating on the failure of the 1960s countercultural movement. The work is Thompson's most famous, and is noted for its lurid descriptions of illegal drug use, its early retrospective on the culture of the 1960s, and its popularization of Thompson's highly subjective blend of fact and fiction that has become known as gonzo journalism.

First edition, first printing. 1981, Bantam, NY. Boards clean with very minimal bumping, shelfwear and sun bleaching of cloth top and bottom. Clean and crisp pages. Tight binding, square spine and text block. Dustjacket has light chipping at top and bottom, two half-inch tears and creases at flap folds. Very good in a good dustjacket.

New York: Viking Press. 1975. Signed, First Edition, Hardcover with original DJ. Signed by Durrell during his visit to the U.S. in 1986. Book is Near Fine with only a small amount of rubbing on spine; DJ is intact with no tears, just a a couple of very small scratches/nicks at the top of the right-front, and a bit of rubbing on the back. Pages are clean and unmarked.

New York: Dodd Mead, 1934. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good.A Poirot Mystery Story. Printed in the United States of America by the Vail Ballou Press. Haberstock dust jacket has clear backing with minimal tape residue. Orange cloth with black lettering. Red Badge end papers. Pages crisp and clean. Some light water damage and bleeding at the tops of pages throughout. Some pages worse than others.

Lupus Music. 1969. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (8.7 x 5.6 inches). A very good, bright copy in the pictorial boards which show a black and white photo portrait of Bolan. Front board and spine lettered in white. In the original dustwrapper which reproduces the boards. Just a hint of rubbing to the extremities of the boards and some creases to the edges of the wrapper but overall a very good copy throughout.

An extraordinary signed copy. This First Edition, First State copy of this now-iconic title would certainly qualify as very near Fine but for extensive foxing to top edge and foredge leaves, and a slight separation at spine crown. The original dust jacket is absolutely Fine.What makes this unique copy so extraordinarily collectible is that on the title page it is boldly (and highly legibly) signed by STEVEN SPIELBERG, JEFF GOLDBLUM, LAURA DERN and the late, great STAN WINSTON. A Knopf publishers card SIGNED BY MICHAEL CRICHTON is laid in.

Clean, bright, square book with light rubbing to spine and just one board corner bumped, some offsetting and light toning to endpapers. Bright dust jacket is free of tears, with slight edgewear and a few minute crinkles near the edges, light rubbing where cloth meets the boards. Some slight softening at top and bottom of spine and one ~1-2mm whitened spot of wear at top of spine. Presents nicely in fresh mylar dust jacket protector. The Tao of Pooh has itself become a cultural icon and the first printing is scarce.

It has the first printing, second state of the dust jacket: the original "J" in Jay Gatsby on the rear panel of the dust jacket has been corrected with an upper-case J - with the lower curve of the original 'j' just peeking through. In a custom clamshell protective box. NOTE: The original dust jackets were about 4mm taller than the cloth bindings, making the top edge of the jacket uncommonly susceptible to damage.
