New York: Robert Sears, 1860. Illustrated by Double color tissue frontis for both Old and New Testaments, 1000+ text engravings, one fold-out map. Second edition. c.1856. Full red embossed calf, gilt topboard illustration (Sermon on the mount) rear illustration (Rebecca at the well), gilt print and decorated spine with 5 raised bands, gilt edge dentelles, a.e.g. Demy 4to. pp. [8], vi, 3-1124, [11], map, 348, [2] list of NT illustration, [2] blank. Very Good. Top board has a dark stain and is 2/3 attached; some cap chipping and slightly darkened spine with some stains; light corner dampstain to last pages of New Testament. Hand calligraphy presentation ffep dated January 1, 1862 from a son to his mother (Jerauld). Register names Sherman, Ellis, Jerauld, Pickering 1793-1842 in beautiful calligraphy. Broadside 7.5 by 5 cm of "Almanac for 1860" laid in. (Joint and spine restoration available). (Oversize postage: 7.5 lb before packaging)..
