A disbound 24-p. tract, primarily a collection of extracts from letters, mostly concerning the Christianization of the Indians. G+; title page is taped along the left side, and loose from the rest; other pp. nearly separating but all in one piece, and free of marks.

Hanover: Nicolaus Forster, 1712. Hardcover. Very Good-. From the noblest church elders not only translated as is but explained in a clear manner and the words of the story explained at the same time". [Our translation]. Originally written in French by the Society of the Maison du Port-Royal and edited by Messers Arnold und Sacy. This book was translated into German. The author was a respected French theologian and philosopher who lived from 1612-1694. Vg- overall, bound in 18th-century plain white vellum; the covers are a little darkened and soiled, and the pastedowns have been torn by the flaps of the vellum, which doesn't want to stay put. Ffep has a 1789 owner's name in ink and an 1868 name in pencil. Other than some minor foxing on the first blank pages, the interior is very clean; pages a little stiff. 477 pp. + 25-p. index.

Very good (boards faded along edges and in spots; spine faded; tiny spot on bottom edge of front board; top edge faintly foxed, spot near spine head; fox spot or two on the bottom edge). Dust jacket is very good (price-clipped; black spots on top edge of rear panel and front flap; rear panel lightly dustsoiled along spine; spine head bumped). 108pp.

London: H. Virtue. Hardcover. Good+. Complete set of this major and beautifully illustrated work, 6 sm. folio volumes in green cloth. The set looks quite good though there are many small flaws. Spines are darkened somewhat, and spine ends crimped. The engraved plates (photos and art) are foxed, usually the frontispieces most heavily. All have a bookseller's sticker from William Potter, Liverpool, on the front pastedown. Vol. 1, Division 1; has date of 1901 on title page (the rest have no date). Vol. 1 Div. 2 has the front hinge starting, and a red stain near the bottom of the rear board. Vol. 2 Div. 1 has the front hinge starting. Vol. 2 Div. 2 has the front hinge broken, and the title page loose. Vol. 3 Div. 1 has a scar in the cloth of the front cover, front hinge starting and rear hinge weak. Vol. 3 Div. 2 is the worst shaken, with the front hinge broken so that the ffep, frontis and title page have come loose together; also a loose plate ('Sceptre') at p. 700. Good plus overall.

This copy has a binding flaw; the interleaves on which are printed 'Caption 9' and 'Caption 10' are laid in loose at the rear. A book of unusual design, which brings together many luminaries of the avant-garde, including Buckminster Fuller, John Cage and Claes Oldenburg.

Frank Lloyd Wright. 2nd printing thus, sm. sq. 4to, maroon cloth, vg+ (shelfrub bottom edge, light bump at bottom of spine, sm. spot on top edge) in an exceptional near fine dj with the $6.00 price. This light gray dj is lightly sunned on the spine; it has been archivally restored, that is, professionally de-acidified, so that it will never darken again. Exceptionally bright and clean text pages. SIGNED in full on the title page (in the red square) by Frank Lloyd Wright and dated Nov. 9, 1948. 561 pp. This is the first complete edition of this book, with an entire section, 'Form', not in the 1932 Longman's edition.
