This stunning, colorful broadside, with its uplifting message was issued in support of Seattle's Indie bookstore Arundel Books during the events of 2020. The inspiring text by Neil Gaiman appears through his gracious courtesy and that of Writers House. The broadside is printed on a heavy stock, and is suitable for framing.

A very good copy of this huge folio set in 19th-century 3/4 brown calf over marbled boards, spine with raised bands and red morocco labels (some wear to leather, corners bumped; some dampstaining, smudges, and foxing to text; old repair to botton margin of title of Volume I). Housed in very sturdy brown cloth slipcases, lined with fleece (some waterstaining and wear to slipcases).

A SUPERB PRESENTATION COPY, signed by Ezra Meeker in his shaky hand, and with a secretarial inscription to noted Northwest pioneer and author Clarence B. Bagley (with Bagley's bookplate). This inscription links two of the great figures of Seattle's early history, and would be a high-spot in any collection. A very good copy in the original grey-blue pictorial cloth, stamped in yellow and green (some wrinkling to cloth at top of spine; minor wear to edges).

Beautifully bound in 3/4 blue polished calf over matching cloth by Riviere & Son, spines with raised bands and elaborate gilt floral tooling within gilt-ruled compartments, covers ruled in gilt, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers (minor wear; occasional spotting). A stunning set in gift condition. Each volume features a color frontispiece by Edmund Dulac.

From the Irish Library of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, William Humble Ward, Second Early of Dudley. This is one of a 124-volume collection of Irish-related titles, uniformly bound by Hatchards for the Earl, in 3/4 dark green morocco over green cloth, spine with raised bands, and six gilt-ruled compartments, enclosing titling and two each of lyre and shamrock designs, covers paneled in gilt, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers (spine faded to brown, minor wear). PROVENANCE: Bookplate of William Humble Ward, Second Early of Dudley, the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, later Governor-General of Australia; bookplate of Robert W. O'Meara.

This copy has great provenance - being Bill Katz's copy, with facsimiles of two pre-publication letters from publisher John Martin to Katz (from December 1970 and January 1971), discussing Katz's prior pivotal review of 'The Days Run Away...' in Library Journal, which Martin credited for making the sale of the book, and discussing sending proofs of 'Post Office' to Katz, hoping for another Library Journal review. Katz in fact did write the review, the results of which Bukowski credited with helping him to become a full-time writer. This copy also includes the original Black Sparrow review slip, with Black Sparrow's note in pencil 'First novel - Bill Katz / dup. on shelf.'
