Xantes Pagnino was a 15th-century Dominican friar known for his studies in biblical philology. Francis de Sales was a 16th-century Catholic bishop from Geneva and was a voice of reason during the unrest caused by the Protestant Reformation. Many of his treaties were highly influential, particularly to those studying Mysticism. He and his writings were popular in both Protestant and Catholic circles, much in part to his works serving as guides to moral living and spiritual devotion, rather than focusing on religious doctrine. In his most famous work 'Devout Life', De Sales states,
"My purpose is to instruct those who live in town, within families, or at court, and are obliged to live an ordinary life as to outward appearances."
'Epistres Spirituels' was one of Sales main treatises on spiritual direction and mysticism.

Gerardus Vossius was a 16th-century Dutch classical theologian known for being one of the first to treat theological dogmas and non-Christian religions from a historical point of view, rather than the more accepted theological. His works of rhetoric were widely popular and were used as textbooks during and after his lifetime. He followed Aristotelian thought and was influenced not only by Aristotle, but also by Cicero and other ancient philosophers.
Vossius's "De Theologia Gentili" was his commentary on the origins and rise of idolatry throughout history. It gives glimpses into Gentile theologies followed in the Bible. This 1668 edition was published in Amsterdam by Blaeu.

An extremely rare and rather unknown 16th-century portion of the Old Testament. Bibles from this era are notoriously rare and have maintained their desirability through centuries. This particular issue is curious – a complete book in itself containing (per the title page) only the books of Kings, Chronicles, Esdras (i.e. Ezra, Nehemiah and Esdras), Tobit, Judith, Esther, and Job. It is unclear who the editor of this Vulgate Bible is; however, the USTC places it published somewhere in Germany in 1587. Still, a very rare and desirable 16th-century Bible.

A rare, Benito Arias Montano was a 16th-century Spanish reformer best known for his Polyglot Bible in which he was accused by the Spanish Inquisition of altering the scriptural text from the original Hebrew. Roger Daniel, a 17th-century English printer from Cambridge, published the standard King James version of the Bible (D&M 520). In fact, the popularity of his 1638 Bible lead him not only reissue his Bible but to produce other liturgical texts. The year 1648 proved to be an important year for Daniel as his Bible received an important new edition, but he also published the first edition to his collection catechisms published entirely in Greek.
