Two small patches of browning affecting the top outer corner of ten leaves, otherwise a very good copy in fine nineteenth century binding by Thomson of Exeter, with binders ticket on front paste down. Full tan calf, raised bands, compartments fully gilt. Red title label, gilt. Boards with double blind ruled and one gilt ruled borders. Marbled endpapers. School prize plate on front paste down shows that this copy was given as a prize in January 1842. Previous owners name(dated 1881) and ink name stamp on blank endpapers. Front hinge neatly repaired. Some minor rubbing to edges but generally a very good copy in an attractive nineteenth century binding.:

Nicely bound in half green morocco with green cloth boards and gilt rule; 5 raised bands and gilt particulars to spine. Top edge gilt. Previous owners' bookplates to front pastedown, first free page and verso of first free page; Waldo Leon Rich, R. M. Kauffmann, and Rudolph Kauffmann II, respectively. Full color hors texte illustrations throughout with tissue guards. Liquid staining to margins of pages 259-264, but otherwise pages are bright and clean. Spine sunned to brown. Light wear to spine ends else very good.
This edition is dedicated to the Willewemoc Club. This is the 3rd edition of the treatise, preceded only by the Wynken de Worde edition of 1496; and the 1827 Pickering edition. This edition contains the Pickering preface, a new preface by Van Siclen and a glossary.

Edicom, 1986. Hardcover. One of 3000 unnumbered copies of this limited edition. Used- Near Fine Condition. Dust Jacket - Very Good condition. Book is clean and tight. Book shows very light shelf wear. Dust jacket shows more wear than book, with some blemishing and minor staining on the front and back covers, a few small tears at the top of the book around the spine. DJ is not price clipped. No highlighting or other markings on the inside of the book. Gorgeous black and white, as well as color, plates. Photos are of the book we have here at Barbed Wire Books.

Lovely, unread copy, signed by Robert Post and stamped with his red fish stamp. These signed copies are increasingly hard to find. First edition, first printing. No marks at all. Dust jacket is not price clipped. I will add signature confirmation to the book when it goes out.
