It has been more than forty years since the last compilation of the cemetery records of McIntosh County was issued. The Cemetery Records of McIntosh County, Georgia, compiled in 1958 by Mrs. Evie White, unfortunately has proved to be only of marginal use as a reference for genealogists and other researches, as it does not include all of the white cemeteries of the county, nor does it include any of the African-American cemeteries. With the completion of the present study, compiled and published under the auspices of the Lower Altamaha Historical Society, McIntosh County now has its most comprehensive collection of cemetery records to date. The present effort includes all McIntosh County cemeteries, black and white, with recorded burials dating from colonial times to the present. B&W photos of each courthouse, with a paragraph or two of the history of each one. Bibliography and Index. Book is clean and square, with a firm binding. Endpapers have tanned, but no foxing or tanning to interior pages. No markings or stains. Dust Jacket Condition is Very Good; glossy jacket with shelf wear around the bottom of jacket, and the top and bottom of spine. Clean and covered with a removable mylar dust jacket. Good copies are becoming quite scarce.

Some of Savannah's most beautiful historic homes and public buildings were designed by John Norris including Williams- Mercer House (wasn't that in some book a few years back.), the Andrew Low House(childhood home of Juliet Low), the beautiful Unites States Custom House on East Bay, and the first home of the Georgia Historical Society on East Bryan Street. This beautiful and informative book was published by Beehive Press in 1980, does a lovely job of showcasing his work. An attractive copy of this 1925 history of the contest between Spain and England over the ownership of Georgia. Very light shelf wear on the end of the spine, and the very tips of the outer corner of front and rear covers (no board exposed or break in cloth). Gilt on spine is complete and bright. All maps present and no foxing or marking to pages. Binding sturdy and tight. Signed by Herbert E. Bolton on presentation book plate on front free endpaper: " To my good friend, Joseph W. Flinn, master of the printer's art, collaborator in the making of this book. With grateful regards, Herbert Bolton". Joesph W. Flinn was Superintendent of the University of California Press where this book was printed.

A solid copy of the 1933 first edition of John Ben Pate's self published county history. Maroon cloth over boards with gold gilt lettering on front and smaller black lettering down the spine. Some fading on spine and some light rubbing. Corners are still fairly sharp, no breaks in the cloth. Previous owner's name on the top of the front pastedown. Hinges have no breaks-front or back. Pages are clean and all are present. 198 pages, 12 chapters with 2 appendices. Great picture frontis with tissue paper between picture and title page. Several pages of old pictures of residents and buildings and at least one map. Truly a find, comes to you in an archival acid free document bag for storage.

As new copy of scarce and important cemetery records for Baldwin County Georgia. no soiling or marking inside or out, tight, square, with sharp corners. Red buckram covers with title in gold gilt on front and spine. 272pp. Milledgeville is located in Baldwin County, and is the home of several first for Georgia: First State Capital, first state penitentiary, first state mental asylum (at one time the largest in the world). Many prisoners and inmates are buried in Milledgeville, along with slaves and former slaves (Milledgeville was second in the state for slave sales, after the Georgia Coast). This volume has made a true effort to locate black cemeteries, along with the other "lost or found" cemeteries of the county. Unfortunately he died at 83 years old in 2012. The large paperback with a spiral binding, introduces the beginning of the 1906 Colony Company and Homeland Georgia. Many of the early residents went on to become the leading citizens of Homeland. Also churches, city council members, business owners, local families. There are some illustrations, and quite a few photos. A very important addition to the local history of Homeland, located in Charlton County Georgia. I could find no other copy offered, even the local library. Clean inside and out, obviously handled, but with care, and is now in a acid free document bag.

Some molting to the cloth covering the spine, and a small hole in spine on the back side. Gilt lettering on front cover is bright, a bit darker on the spine. Binding is very firm, hinges and gutters are whole and good, pages are a higher quality slick paper. An attractive copy, still the most important research for the Spanish missions that were located in Georgia--83 years later. The book, covered with a tweed looking cloth over boards and a silver monk outlined on the front (title on spine in silver gilt), is tight and square with sharp corners and no apparent wear. The endpapers are color pictures of the Mission of Santa Maria. The pages are clean and bright, some of the pages are untrimmed. This is the autographed edition and is limited to five hundred and twenty-five copies, five hundred which were sold. John Tate Lanning signed this copy, number 215. The map is present in this copy, in very good shape with a small tear that was repaired with scotch tape.
