Cloth-backed boards printed with silhouette drawings, fine in near fine, unclipped dj (almost invisible closed tear to top of dj flap), without the Caldecott medal sticker on the dj.

Los Angeles: Sutton House, 1935. 1st ed. Hardcover. Near Fine. Pogany, Willy. No additional printings noted. 4to, full blue cloth stamped in gilt, seven children's stories by various authors, illustrated with seven handsomely drawn color plates, color illustrated endpapers and charcoal drawings on every page by Willy Pogany, many full page. Meets the definition of "profusely illustrated." One of Pogany's scarcer titles. Slight bowing to boards, tips moderately bumped, light wear to front cover, period bookplate to front pastedown.

New York: Scribners, 1929. 1st edition US. Hardcover. Near Fine. Dulac, Edmund. 1st ptg., 4to, full blue cloth, gilt spine titling and blind-stamped rule bordering front board. Illustrated with 12 full color plates printed on the same laid cream cloth as the text, which works well to give the illustrations a softer, warmer feeling that if they were done on glossy paper. 1/2" circular beverage stain (?) to front board, small scuffed mark of label removal to top of ffep, slight water stain at very top of fore-edge. Tips and spine edge wear very lightly touched up in blue by former owner. Still a near fine, bright copy. No previous ownership marks.

Gaze, Harold. 1st ptg., 8vo, full yellow pictorial cloth stamped in dark red, with lovely silhouette endpapers printed in blue on powder blue paper, eight color plates and scattered full and partial page line drawings by Gaze. Fine in a scarce good to very good jacket. Small St. Paul bookstore sticker to bottom back paste down in price clipped dj with several very small chips, moderate staining to the top of the jacket cover and 1/2"x3" paper loss to the bottom. No previous owner's marks. Ad for The Goblins Glen illustrated by Gaze, on the rear jacket flap. Uncommon in jacket.

London: Andersen Press, 1979. 1st ed. Hardcover. As New. Ross, Tony. 1st ed. Square 16mo, illustrated boards, illustrated in color throughout by Tony Ross. 600 mice in Napoleonic era uniforms vs. cats. signed by both Stone and Ross on the title page. Laid in is a limited edition print of the music and lyrics to an accompanying song, loosely based on the original poem with lyrics by Stone and music by T.W. Southam, this one of the 400 unsigned copies of the 500 total.

New York: Watson Guptill, 1945. 2nd edition. Hardcover. 4to, full brown cloth with color cover plate, introduced by Frank Crowninshield. Ink name and date to front free endpaper, rubbing to board edges. Very good in very good, unclipped dj.

London: Harrap, 1919. Limited edition. Hardcover. Very Good plus. Clarke, Harry. #151 of 170 copies signed and numbered by Harry Clarke. 4to full vellum, 24 full page black and white plates with tissue guards. This was before the color plates were added to later editions—this is the only signed limited of all the editions. Quite scarce today. Gilt spine titles and small gilt illustration on the front cover, bordered by a design of chains & hearts all in gilt. Top edge gilt. The vellum is separating from boards at top of pastedown endpapers, very slightly in front, about 2 1/2 inches in rear. Modest bowing to boards and a little unevenness to the spine spine. Modest darkening to covers. Without previous ownership markings. No foxing, interior pages very clean. A solid copy of the scarcest of all Clarke titles and the most reprinted of them all, proving its popularity over the last 100 years. Signed by Clarke.

Bookstore stamp and gift inscription to half-title. 1954 Newbery medal winner. Fine in edgeworn, price-clipped dj.

London: Medici Society, 1927. 1st ed. Hardcover. Near Fine. Parsons, Jacynth. Small 4to, full blue cloth. Illustrated with 12 charming tissue-guarded color plates and numerous line drawings by the 16-year-old Jacynth Parsons with a prefatory letter by William Butler Yeats extolling her artwork. The year this book was published the Medici Society put on a well-received exhibition of her "pictures from the age of 3 to 16." Slightly cocked, else fine, no previous owner's marks.

Indianapolis: Bobbs Merrill, 1914. 1st edition thus. Hardcover. Fine. Denslow, W.W.. 1st printing of the second edition using the amended title. Binding A cover variant, blue-green cloth, curly ampersand on spine logo. Variant A of the copyright notice. (Bienvenue: The Book Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum and Oz). 16 full-color inserts including title page, green and orange illustrated endpapers. Previous owner's names on second blank page, one in pencil, one in ink, otherwise an exceptionally nice copy of a scarce edition.

New York: Henry Holt & Co, 1922. 1st ed. Hardcover. Very Good. Hwenderson, Keith. 2 volumes, small 4to, full black cloth, illustrated in black and white by Keith Henderson. Upwards of 300 illustrations, from tiny vignettes of plant life and idols, to full page illustrations of battles. The authentic costumes are terrific. Hard as it is for us to believe, it looks like all the art is indeed by Henderson. Blind-stamped cover titles and small design, spine titles and another vignette in gilt. Top edge gilt. Uncut. Heavy beveled covers. Endpaper maps different front and rear, repeated in each volume. Fully indexed.
