Good, lacking the dust jacket. Cloth shows soiling, owner name in ink and several small stray marks to front cover, surface scratches, fraying to corners and top edge near spine. Vintage bookseller ticket to front free end paper, edge tear to dedication page. Pages thumbed and rubbed. Binding a bit slack, with stitching exposed at several hinges. First edition.

London: Collins / The Crime Club, 1939. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition, first printing, second state with no date listed on copyright page. Very Good with light lean to spine, a bit of dust soiling, fading to cloth corresponding to jacket chips, and bumping to page corners. In a Very Good dust jacket with front flap clipped at bottom corner and publisher's price of 4'- net printed left of the clip (assumed second issue); edge wear with chipping heavier at spine ends, rubbing to folds, faint pencil markings to front panel and fading to spine. A controversial title to say the least, published in America and filmed as And then There Were None. This book remains one of Christie's best-selling novels, as well as the world's best-selling mystery book and one of the best-selling books of all time. It is widely considered the author's masterpiece.

Bound in late 20th-century dark green crushed morocco by Bayntun (Rieviere), ruled and lettered in gilt, raised bands, gilt top stain, wide turn-ins decorated in gilt, marbled endpapers. Three volumes housed in green cloth slipcase. Half-titles present, lacking ads. pp.[iv], 304; [iv], 304; [iv], 311, [1]. Near Fine. Minor scuff to leather of volumes II and III, half-title and title pages of III remargined. Previous owner bookplate loosely attached in volume I. Unusually fresh and clean internally. The first published novel by the Bronte sisters, credited with revolutionizing literature and even by one recent writer with no less than inventing the modern self. One of only approximately 500 copies printed. Parrish pp. 87-88. Smith 2.

Andrew Lang's Color Fairy Books, complete in twelve volumes, all first impressions of the first edition: Blue (1889), Red (1890), Green (1892), Yellow (1894), Pink (1897), Grey (1900), Violet (1901), Crimson (1903), Brown (1904), Orange (1906), Olive (1907), Lilac (1910). The volumes average in Very Good, with fading to spines, foxing, light edge wear, soiling, or rubbing, bookplates or previous ownership markings, and toning to pages. Tear to cloth at base of spine of The Blue Fairy Book; Inner hinges tender or exposed in the Lilac, Orange and Grey; Corner clipped from front free endpaper in The Lilac Fairy Book. A lovely set Andrew Lang's Color Fairy Books, beautifully decorated in ornate gilt stamping.

Chicago: A.C. McClurg & Co, 1914. First Edition. Very Good. First edition, first printing. Bound in publisher's red cloth with titles in gilt on upper board and spine, no acorn at imprint; lacking the dust jacket. Very Good with slight lean to binding. Spine cloth slightly faded, gilt lettering a bit dulled on the front cover and darkened on the spine. A very nice copy of a book that usually turns up much worse for wear.

London: The Hogarth Press, 1927. First Edition. Very Good+/Very Good. First edition, first printing, in the original dust jacket designed by Virginia Woolf's sister, Vanessa Bell. Bound in publisher's original blue cloth with spine lettered in gilt. Very Good+ with light fading to spine cloth. Some foxing throughout, though heaviest at textblock edge, early and final pages. Previous owner name to front free endpaper and again on the half title page. The dust jacket is Very Good, with the usual toning to the spine, some soiling and foxing, chips to the corners and spine ends and a tear to the bottom edge of the front panel. A bright copy of one of the author's most enduring works. In 1998, the Modern Library ranked To the Lighthouse as number 15 on its list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.

New York: The Macmillan Company, 1936. First Edition. Very Good. First edition, first printing, with "Published May, 1936" on the copyright page. Bound in publisher's grey cloth stamped in blue; lacking the dust jacket. Very Good. Spine ends lightly softened. Cloth toned at spine and lightly so to edges, lightly foxed. Clippings pasted to preliminary and terminal blank sheets, with associated offsetting, otherwise a pretty sharp copy.

London: Jarrold and Sons, 1877. First Edition. Good. First edition, first printing of the classic equine novel; in Carter's variant C binding. Good. Cloth well-worn and soiled, textblock edge lightly spotted, inner hinges repaired, pencil markings to brown coated endsheets, effaced owner name to first blank sheet and owner name in pencil to title page, light cigar smoke odor to pages, pages thumbed. Written by Sewell during the last years of her life, which she spent home-bound. She died five months after it's publication, living just long enough to see the book become a success. It went on to become one of the most well-known books of the Victorian era, as well as one of the best-selling books of all time. Additionally, the novel was notable for being used as a tool to advocate for more humane treatment of horses, drawing attention to a number of restrictive objects commonly in use at the time such as bearing reins and blinkers.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. Good+. First edition, first printing, first issue with 3 p's in "stoppped" on page 181. 259 pp. Bound in publisher's black cloth with bronze title labels. Good+ with chipping and wear to labels, cloth a bit softened and edge-worn, sunned spine, two former owners' names on paste down, binding a little shaken but holding. The first appearance of the classic modernist novel.

New York: Simon and Schuster, 1936. First edition, second printing. Good. First edition, second printing. Bound in publisher's light red cloth stamped in gilt, lacking the dust jacket. Good. Cloth foxed and lightly marked, spine faded and frayed at the ends. Pages toned, with some corner creasing and sporadic light stains. A phenomenal bestseller, early printings are uncommon.

Good, with cloth stained and gilt stamping partially worn, reading creased to spine. Former owner name and address to front pastedown, hinge at title page slightly over-opened, pages toned and several instances of underlining to text. A scarce first printing of a book Hill claimed was inspired by a suggestion from Andrew Carnegie.

Signed by Shirley Jackson and inscribed to former owner on the front free endpaper in the year of publication. Bound in publisher's yellow and turquoise cloth with titles stamped in black. Very Good with slight spine-lean, yellow cloth lightly faded, edges lightly worn and pages lightly toned. In a Good unclipped dust jacket which is tattered and well worn. The horror novel that inspired the 1963 and 1999 films titled The Haunting and the current Netflix show.
