Description:
Boston: Small, Maynard & Co, 1921. First Edition. Hard Cover. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY WILL D. (BILLY) PARKER. Legendary pioneer aviator Will D. (Billy) Parker's copy, with his bookplate and ownership inscription of front blank: "Capt. Billy Parker/H.M.R.F.C./Dewey Okla/1921" in pencil. Parker had just served Her Majesties Royal Flying Corps - the inscription shows his pride. His bookplate reads, "Billy Parker/A Pilot Since 1912/ Test Pilot/Aeronautical Engineer." Billy Parker (1899-1981), became known as "the Boy Aviator" and carried private pilot's license number 44. As a high school student in Ft. Collins, CO, he built a glider, which flew to an altitude of 300 feet. Then he built a pusher (similar to the Wright Brothers plane), with a motorcycle engine, but it couldn't fly well above several thousand feet, because of thinner air (and insufficient horsepower). His mother helped him to purchase a 50 horsepower French Gnome engine - thus Billy Parker became a professional pilot. As a college student… Read More

Description:
London 1608, 1609, 1610: Robert Barker. Full-Leather. Very Good. Small quarto (8 1/2" x 6 1/2") bound in contemporary suede covered boards; the "Breeches" Bible, so called from the passage in Genesis 3:7, "they sewed figge tree leaves together and made themselves breeches." Bound together with The Book of Common Prayer (lacking title page), The Apocrypha, The New Testament, title page dated 1610, the Concordance, dated 1608 and the Psalms, dated 1609 (final leaf lacking). Printed just a few years before the King James Version, the present Bible comes near the end of the Geneva printings; printed in double column format. A few shoulder-notes shaved closely, owner notes on a few blank areas and a few corners lost, not affecting text. Expertly re-backed to style, in matching suede; newer end papers. Overall, a very good, handsome copy of an historically important Bible.

Description:
Paris, 1930. Unbound. Paul Fort's original manuscript, neatly and beautifully written in ink; quarto, 79 leaves of heavy cream paper and laid loose into a green portfolio. Paul Fort drew much of his inspiration from the Middle Ages, and the aballad form that he used almost exclusively was taken from the same period. He filled some forty volumes with his delicate ballads. He was also active in the theatre, even before the turn of the century, writing some plays himself and producing what were considered "difficult" plays by some of his contemporaries. In 1956, he received the Grand Literary Prize of the City of Paris for his works. Fine. Together with the limited edition of the book (#48 of 200 copies), Inscribed to Madame Christian Schram Senior and with an 11 line holograph poem, initialed "P. F." and dated Paris, May, 1931; and with an excellent 4 page autograph letter signed and dated October 8, 1930. A near fine copy.
