Slim octavo [20.5 cm] Illustrated paper covered boards with a box of Kleenex mounted to the front cover (the Kleenex pack has been perforated). Very good plus condition. The edges of the covers show minimal wear. When Little Lulu's trip to the magic shop is thwarted, a mysterious little old lady in a black cape teaches her how to do 'magic' with Kleenex. Included are instructions for making a flower, a bunny, and a doll. Little Golden Book Number 203.

Liverpool: Published by Brigham Young, 1866. Fifth European edition. Leather bound. 336 pp. Sextodecimo [15.5 cm]; full diced Russian calf, gilt border to boards, gilt bands and title on backstrip. Very good. There is a small stain on the front board which continues through to the twentieth leaf, otherwise a nice clean copy of this uncommon printing. Contemporary name in ink (Charles Hall) on the front free end sheet. There is a Charles Hall mentioned in Jensen's Biographical Encyclopedia. We believe that this is the same Charles Hall, but cannot state it definitively. Flake/Draper 2868.

New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1967. Tenth printing. Hardcover. Very good/very good. SIGNED. 90pp. Thin quarto [28.5 cm] Gray cloth over boards, with very subtle warping to the rear board. In the pictorial dust jacket, with several small closed tears and chips in the edges. From the dust jacket- "No one is better qualified than Eric Sloane to deal with the weather. The sky is his religion and his philosophy. It has added meaning, variety and a spiritual excitement to his everyday life. It never ceases to heighten his powers of observation and, through them, his general understanding of all phases of nature." This copy is inscribed, with a drawing, and signed by Sloane twice, on the front free endpaper.

Includes original pale blue free endpapers, now serving as flyleaves. Calligraphic ink name dated May 1st, 1866 on original front free endpaper, reinforcements to the edges of several leaves, light to moderate foxing throughout. With forty-two illustrations by John Tenniel. The first published edition, re-set from a copy of the recalled first issue. Williams, Madan, Green 46. The publication of Carroll's work appeared at a time when children's literature was produced primarily to teach moral lessons. The original oil painting was purchased by the Santa Fe Railroad to use in their campaign to promote tourist rail travel to the Grand Canyon. This image, after the original, is bright and rich, and shows Moran's dramatic view of the Grand Canyon. Doris Ostrander Dawdy points out in "Artists of the American West: A Biographical Dictionary," that Thomas Moran (1837-1926), nicknamed "T. Yellowstone Moran" by his companions on the Territorial Surveys, was only 34 years old when he sketched the Yellowstone region. Notations, with much regarding the provenance of the book, circa 1901-1972, to preliminary leaves and rear pastedown. Front pastedown laminated with glue. Collated. All pages are present. This copy was first presented to Harriet R. Harwood in 1901. Her husband, James T. Harwood, is recognized as a major figure in art in the American west. It is important to note that this is the variant darker blue version. The boards are darkened near the spine, however the pages are clean and bright. The extremities are gently rubbed, and the spine is just a trifle rolled back. The first portion of the Book of Mormon printed in the Deseret Alphabet. The Deseret Alphabet was introduced in 1854 and was created by Parley P. Pratt, Heber C. Kimball and George D. Watt. Made up of thirty-eight characters to correlate with basic sounds in the English language, the Deseret Alphabet was intended to be used to help simplify the principles of the English language. The creation of the language is one the more unusual ideas of Brigham Young, and never was embraced in the way he thought it would be. A minor notation has been rubbed out on the front free endpaper.In the publisher's printed mylar dust wrapper, in good condition only, with a prominent loss to the top half of the rear panel. The text is in French. Will require extra postage due to weight if being shipped outside of the United States. Du quinzième siècle à nos jours. Charmingly illustrated throughout.

This beautifully maintained American first is a part of Nin's collection of novels called "Cities of the Interior". Covers lightly rubbed at the edges. Kiki Smith is a West German born American artist whose work is imbued with themes of sex, birth, and regeneration. Her work has confronted subjects such as AIDS and gender, and more recently the human condition in relationship to nature. An exhibition catalog with contributions by Linda Nochlin, Lynne Tillman, and Marina Warner. Signed in pencil by Kiki Smith on the half title: "Best, Kiki Smith, 2006.

Very Good. 623pp. Quarto [25.5 cm] Black leather with gilt stamped titles and blind stamped decorative patterns on the spine and covers. Rebacked with a large portion of the original spine laid over. Floral endpapers. The hinges have been reinforced, and there are several small professional touch ups to the edges of the front free endpaper. The initials "P. W." have been faintly scratched twice into the front board, and there is a previous owner's address label on both pastedowns. The so-called "pulpit" edition of the Book of Mormon, the only large-sized edition of the Book of Mormon issued in the 19th century. Flake/Draper 625.

1830. A single leaf, pp. 423/24, of the first edition of "The Book of Mormon." The leaf measures 11.5 cm x 18.5 cm. This page is from the Book of Helaman. The Book of Helaman is named after the third Helaman mentioned in The Book of Mormon. This Helaman, the son of the second Helaman (a prophet and military leader), was a record keeper and chief judge in the land of Zarahelma. The book of Helaman depicts the Nephites fluctuating between righteousness and wickedness more frequently than at any other time in their history. "The book relates multiple instances of dissension, war, murder, and secret combinations. It also introduces and describes the activities of the Gadianton robbers, whose works of darkness eventually brought about the destruction of the Nephites (see Helaman 2:13-14).
