Viyana: Dar tibaʹ al-imberaturiyy, 1846 8vo (23.5 x 15 cm), 88 pp. Publisher's wrappers (wrapper little faded, title page soiled, inventory number, stamp of defunct library on the last page). Printed in red and gold with beautiful title-page in gold and blue. In Ottoman Turkish. Curious edition of texts of commercial treaties between Turkey and Hapsburg empire published in oriental stile in Vienna by Kaiserlich-Königliche Hof- und Staatsdruckerei, imperial printshop.

Paris: Firmin Didot, 1823 8vo (20 x 13.2 cm), VIII, 494, [2] pp, half chagrin over marbled boards, original wrappers bound in (little foxing, blind collector stamps on the title and the first page). The catalog of the map collection of the Duke Aleksandr Lobanov-Rostovsky (1788-1866), a Russian general and diplomat. The catalog was written by the Duke himself with the help of Charles Piquet. One of 230 copies privately printed by Firmin Didot.

Florence: Tyszkiewicz Private Press, 1933 Folio (33.5 x 24.5 cm), 70, [5] pp. Vellum backed boards. Fine copy of a study of medieval city-communes by Russian-Italian historian Nikolaj Ottokar (1884 - 1957). Printed by count Samuel Tyszkiewicz (1889 - 1954) at his private press in established in Florence in 1928. Limited to one hundred copies printed with Nicolas Cochin types on the paper made for the press, this is no. 51. At the end a list of books printed at the press. Stamperia Polacca 14.

Rome: Giacomo Lauro, 1639 Engraving 24 x 18 cm. Rare view of L'viv (Lwów, Lvov, Lemberg) copied by Italian engraver, printer and print publisher Giacomo Lauro (1561 - 1635) from the 6th volume of Braun and Hogenberg "Civitates orbis terrarum". Unfinished view has been published after Lauro death in "Heroico Splendore delle Città del Mondo".

Manuscript in Cyrillic chancery hand, 21 x 17 cm, 157 ff. Untrimmed in cont. wrappers (wrappers stained and soiled, frayed at extremities). Leaves numbered in pencil in modern hand. A register of incomes and expenses of the Joseph Volokolamsk Monastery near Moscow for the year 1674.

Lwów, 1930 12 drawings from 60 x 72 cm to 73 x 84 cm, including isometric view, elevations and floor plans. Red ink on tracing paper, paper fragile, tears, small parts missing, pencil notes and calculations. Witold Minkiewicz (1880-1961), a Polish architect, professor of the Lwów Polytechnics and Gdańsk University of Technology. His mature style was moderate constructivism. The project was prepared somewhere 1930th when the area around newly built National Museum (opened in 1938) was modernized. The actual building on the plot was finished in 1952 according to a different project.

The second part (published in 1867) includes a biography of the artist, an essay on his portrait of the pope Eugene IV and notes on the miniatures of the Hours. Beautiful and uncommon map of Spain and Portugal published by Duch cartographer and bookseller Pieter Husson (1678-1733) to illustrate a theater of the War of the Spanish Succession. From Husson' "Variae Tabulae Geographicae", The Hague, ca. 1710 which included mostly maps by Amsterdam cartographers but also few Husson's maps.

Venice: Francesco Marcolini, June 1551. 112, [7] ff, lacking final black). 19th cent. calf backed boards and marbled paper, spine gilt, paper label with number top of the spine, edges painted yellow (title of the first books stained, title of the second frayed at the bottom corner with some loss of paper but without loss of text, some foxing). The first edition of both parts. A list of Italian authors and their works, mostly contemporary including the author himself.“The first bibliography in a vernacular and the first attempt to describe books in Italian, with the special section of printed music. A. G. du Plessis and P. de la Morandière (bookplates). Text in Armenian, Greek and Latin. The first edition of the part of Eusebius’ Chronicle preserved only in Armenian printed by Mekhitarian monks on San Lazaro island in Venice.

Amsterdam: Janssonius van Waesberghe, 1681 In-16, [8], 503 pp. Cont. Dutch vellum with yapp edges (binding little stained, paper browned at the beginning). This medical bibliography by the foremost bibliographer of the 17th century contains the works published from 1651 to 1581. Included about 2000 writers (4000 titles according to Besterman) arranged alphabetically by the last name of the author, separately listing publications in Latin, French, Spanish, Italian, English, German and Dutch. The bibliography “is probably as complete and as accurate as was possible at that time. Its main importance is that it is the first work to break down the overwhelmingly large production of medical works into easily digested portions by a time span.” (Brodman) NLM XVII, 1179.

Cont. calf, flat spine gilt, two labels with title, triple filets on the front and back covers, aeg, marbled end-papers (first and last leaves browned, some foxing and darkening of paper inside, 19th century inscription top of the blank inserted before title). In 1725 German theologian Johann Peter Kohl (1698-1778) was appointed as a professor of the Imperial Academy of Sciences in Saint Petersburg. He fell in love with Russian princess, was declared mad and shipped back with a lifelong pension. This rare book, one of the first Russian literary histories, is Kohl’s the most important work. The first part is concerned with Slavonic bibles (discussing among other topics the origins of printing in Russia), the second part is dealing with the Slavonic translations of Ephrem the Syrian. Paper little toned and frayed at extremities, upper sheet split at the centerfold at bottom, bottom sheet slightly darkened at the centerfold.
