Viyana: Dar tibaʹ al-imberaturiyy, 1846 8vo (23.5 x 15 cm), 88 pp. Publisher's wrappers (wrapper slightly faded, title page soiled, inventory number, stamp of a defunct library on the last page). Printed in red and gold with a beautiful title page in gold and blue. In Ottoman Turkish. A curious edition of texts of commercial treaties between Turkey and the Habsburg Empire, published in oriental style in Vienna by Kaiserlich-Königliche Hof- und Staatsdruckerei, an imperial printshop.

Parma: Bodoni, 1811 2 volumes 4to, XI, 190 pp; [4], 198 pp. Untrimmed in publisher's orange boards (boards slightly foxed, some foxing inside). Rare Bodoni rendering of Hypnerotomachia, loosely translated by J. G. Legrand (the first edition was printed by Didot in 1804). Limited to 300 copies. Brooks 1103; Brunet IV, 779 (belle édition).

Paris: Firmin Didot, 1823 8vo (20 x 13.2 cm), VIII, 494, [2] pp, half chagrin over marbled boards, with original wrappers bound in (slightly foxed, blind collector stamps on the title and the first page). This is the catalog of the map collection of Duke Aleksandr Lobanov-Rostovsky (1788-1866), a Russian general and diplomat. The catalog was authored by the Duke himself, with assistance from Charles Piquet. This edition is one of the 230 copies privately printed by Firmin Didot.

Publisher's wrappers (covers slightly stained, soiled, and rubbed, corners of a few leaves at the beginning soiled). In Russian, English, and Chinese. A rare book published in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang, China’s northernmost province. After the revolution and the civil war, the city was a center of Russian emigration.

Florence: Tyszkiewicz Private Press, 1933 Folio (33.5 x 24.5 cm), 70, [5] pp. Vellum-backed boards (minor shelf-wear). A fine copy of a study on medieval city-communes by Russian-Italian historian Nikolaj Ottokar (1884 - 1957). Printed by Count Samuel Tyszkiewicz (1889 - 1954) at his private press established in Florence in 1928. Limited to one hundred copies, printed with Nicolas Cochin types on the paper made for the press; this is number 51. At the end, there is a list of books printed at the press. Stamperia Polacca 14.

Manuscript in Cyrillic chancery hand, 21 x 17 cm, 157 ff. Untrimmed in contemporary wrappers (wrappers stained and soiled, frayed at extremities). Leaves numbered in pencil in modern hand. This manuscript serves as a register of incomes and expenses of the Joseph Volokolamsk Monastery near Moscow for the year 1674.

From the library of Anton Ritter von Beck (1812-1895) in Plevna/Cilli (Slovenia). This is the first edition of History of Serbia from the beginning of 1813 to the end of 1815, a rare and important work by Simeon (Sima) Milutinovic (1791-1847), considered one of the founders of modern Serbian literature. The text is in Serbian, with some documents in Russian.

Hugh Everett III (1930-1982) was an American physicist and mathematician best known for his work on the "Relative State" formulation of quantum mechanics, with the first edition published here on pp. 454-462.
