Boston: Lee and Shepard, 1867. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 208, 7pp ads. Brown cloth, gilt spine lettering, 6 engraved plates with tissue-guards including frontispiece. Heavy staining to upper rear board, other less severe spotting and fading to covers, some slight splitting to rear joint and some chipping to spine, lettering is readable but slightly faded, tape residue and tiny hole to title page, slight split to front hinge. Contents are age-toned but in surprisingly sound condition, binding is tight. A straightforward description of conditions in Brazil.

Cincinnati: Robert Clarke & Co., 1872. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 105pp. Original orange cloth, gilt lettering and black border, top edge gilt. Spine chipped, mainly at head, corners rubbed, spotting along top of front board, cover is otherwise in clean bright condition, slight internal separation at title page, owner's name stamped on front free endpaper, contents clean. Letters describing travel in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Germany and Italy in 1872.

Omaha, Nebraska: The Overland Publishing Company, 1880. Soft cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 281pp, 18 engraved folding plates and numerous illustrations. Red stiff pictorial wraps. Moderate cover soil and light wear, map not present. Contents are age-toned but otherwise unmarked. The engraved plates show wonderful panoramic views of many national park sights.

Philadelphia: Davis, Porter & Coates. Soft cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 8pp. No date circa 1860s. Yellow pictorial wraps, stitched spine. LIght cover soil, contents mostly clean. A 2 line verse describes the hand-colored illustration for each month of the year. A well-preserved little book.

Hartford, Conn: J. Blakeslee Frost, 1866. First Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 276pp. Brown cloth. Covers edgeworn, spine chipped at head and tail, dampstaining to preliminary pages and last few pages, text is age-toned and there are a few spots and smudges in some margins, the binding is tight. An uncommon book relating the author's observations during her residence of 5 years in California.

Boston: Passenger Department Boston & Maine Railroad, 1889. First Edition . Soft cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 125pp. Pictorial wraps, 2 folding color maps and numerous in text illustrations. Front cover missing, rear cover chipped and missing 2 inch corner piece. Contents are sound, evenly toned and very occasionally lightly foxed. Both folding maps are in very good condition, one has a slight misfold crease. A scarce title by a prolific writer of travel guides and mountain hiking.

Boston: Brown Taggard, & Chase, 1860. Hardcover. Very Good. 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall. 255pp. Stamped cloth, gilt lettering, folding map of Boston bound-in. Covers are faded and very lightly rubbed, text is age-toned and clean. Owner wrote many weather entries on memoranda pages. Folding map has slight edge stain and is in otherwise sound condition. Many ads and much information.

Phildelphia: Getz & Buck, 1853. Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 313pp. Contemporary half-calf, paper covered boards, 8 plates including frontispiece. Covers are soiled and scuffed, edges worn. Contents are tanned and occasionally foxed, endpapers have owner's name, pencil scribbles and residue from label removal, gutters exposed but binding is tight. An early pirated edition, published in 1853, shortly after the First London Edition.

Salem, Massachusetts: Peabody Museum, 1937. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. 209pp. Marbled boards, black spine, gilt spine lettering, top edge gilt, slipcase. Corners lightly rubbed, spine lettering mildly sunned, contents are clean and some pages still unopened. Slipcase is lightly edge-chipped. One of 481 copies printed on Hazelbourn paper by The Southworth-Anthoensen Press.

New York: S.R. Wells, 1871. Fifth Edition . Audio Book (Cassette). Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. 126pp +16pp ads. Maroon cloth, gilt lettering to cover and spine. Soiling and light wear to cover, light dampstaining and foxing to some margins and endpapers, text is mildly age-toned. An 18th century discourse on the art of painting and decorating carriages, gilding, varnishing, staining and ornamenting, and the materials required. An early printing of this title.

London: Effingham Wilson, 1829. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. 278pp. Half calf marbled boards, gilt lettering to spine, 4 full-page lithographs, plus one title page lithograph. Wear to cover and spine, some loss of lettering on spine, cracking to joints and hinges but binding is holding firmly, and text block is tight. Contents are age-toned and have very little foxing, previous owner's names on front endpapers (one dated 1834.) Overall in sound condition. Includes accounts of Basil Hall, Charles Waterton, a Captain Head, and a Mr. Ward.

London: William H. Ainsworth, 1827. Second Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. xii,207pp. Half calf, marbled boards, raised bands, leather spine label, 10 of 14 plates plus foldout frontispeice. One inch pieces chipped from head and tail of spine, wear and scuffing to covers, contents age-toned and foxed, binding is sound, ex-library label and marking on front pastedown only. Author travels along the east coast of U.S. and Canada.

London: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1928. Children's Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. John Tenniel. 235pp. Green cloth, black lettering, red and black pictorial decoration, 16 color plates. Spine darkened but readable, spine ends chipped, 2 minor archival tape repairs, contents age-toned, former owner's name and bookplate on front endpapers.

New York: Garden City, 1935. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. A.E. Jackson. 216pp. No date, c1930s. Contains 8 color plates by Alfredto Edward Jackson. Book is in very good condition, faint dampstain front endpapers, cover is unworn, contents are clean. Dust jacket is chipped along edges and lightly worn. Beautifully illustrated by A. E.. Jackson. Dust jacket illustrated by Charles A. Federer.

New York: E.P. Dutton and Company, 1929. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Willy Pogany. 192pp. Violet cloth, gilt lettering and decoration, color llustrated endpapers. Cover nearly unworn, spine is faded and lettering barely readable, several small holes in front endpaper evidently from bookplate removal, inscription on verso, text is mildly age-toned but clean and unmarked, binding is tight. Scarce dust jacket is missing a 2 1/2 inch piece from lower spine and several smaller pieces from top edge. Wonderful pen and ink drawings by Pogany throughout text.
