Boston: Lee and Shepard, 1867. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 208, 7pp ads. Brown cloth, gilt spine lettering, 6 engraved plates with tissue-guards including frontispiece. Heavy staining to upper rear board, other less severe spotting and fading to covers, some slight splitting to rear joint and some chipping to spine, lettering is readable but slightly faded, tape residue and tiny hole to title page, slight split to front hinge. Contents are age-toned but in surprisingly sound condition, binding is tight. A straightforward description of conditions in Brazil.
