London: Philip Lee Warner, Publisher to the Medici, 1909. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. 4to. Unpaginated. Hardcover bound in quarter tan cloth with grey paper-covered boards and the remains of the original grey dust jacket. Light to moderate wear to the binding. The boards show some browning and foxing, likely from the remains of the dust jacket. The front and rear panels and turn-ins of the jacket remain. The front panel of the jacket has a couple of glass rings as well as a 3 1/2inch tear on the fore edge near the bottom corner. This tear has some old and failed tape repairs and a large accompanying crease. There is also a paper label on the front panel of the jacket from the Medici Society noting this Cloth binding version originally cost 2 Pounds, 12 Shillings, 6 d. Germanton [Germantown, Pennsylvania]: Gedruckt bey Leibert und Billmeyer, 1784. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Poor. 12mo. 252 pages. A small book measuring 5 3/4 inches tall by almost 3 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in original leather-covered wooden boards. The binding is quite worn and stained. Chipping at the spine ends. The leather is chipped and is darkened on the rear cover (from having been damped) and is peeling up where it is chipped, revealing the wooden board beneath. The front pastedown is torn away, revealing the front wooden board. Lacks the clasp. Several signatures a bit sprung. There is a chip at the fore edge of the title page, affecting some of the lettering. The text is toned and stained. Bottom edge torn away from the bottom of the final leaf, but there does not appear to be text missing. Worldcat also notes 252 pages. Printed in "Old German" type. A scarce 18th century American Psalter written in German.

Greensboro, N.C.: The Guilford Battle Ground Company, 1902. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Very Good. 8vo. 19 pages. Soft cover bound in brown textured wrappers. Light wear to the binding. A sound copy and clean within. The top corner of the front cover and text block is a little bumped. There is a spot of soiling and some dull creasing on the rear cover, but overall a sound, clean copy. Housed in a removable plastic sleeve with a board backing. Scarce.

London: William Bent, 1786. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good. Octavo. 384 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in quarter tan calf, with marbled paper covered boards. The binding is rubbed, and the boards show some normal scuffs. Raised bands on the spine. Prior owner's signature "T. Smith / 1788" on the front flyleaf in a fine hand. There is some foxing to the text. Some offsetting to the paper on the pages opposite the engravings. This volume is has 14 of 15 plates, LACKING the plate of Hatfield House opposite Pg. 137. This plate also lacks the leaf for pages 138-139, so two pages of text are missing. This volume runs from January to June, 1786 and contains the supplement and the Index at the rear.

London: How and Parsons, 1842. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. George Cruikshank. 12mos. 322, (2), 315 pages. Two volume set. Hardcovers rebound in full red leather by Riviere. Signed "Bound by Riviere" in type on the verso of the front flyleaves. The cloth from the original bindings is pasted onto the rear flyleaves of each volume. Marbled endpapers. The bindings are rubbed, especially at the hinges, and the headcaps of the spines have some brief chipping. There is a larger chip at the headcap of the spine to Volume I. A sound set with some light foxing to the text. Frontis pieces by George Cruikshank. Rare.

Overall minimal wear to the binding, but there are a few little contact marks on the front cover. A sound copy with secure inner hinges and clean text. Illustrated throughout.

Lexington VA: Historic Lexington Foundation, 1981. Soft cover. Very Good. Oblong Quarto. 190 pages, indexed. Softcover bound in illustrated wrappers. Moderate rubbing and wear to the binding. Text is clean. The bulk of the book is comprised of different branches of the family trees with charts on every page. The charts look to have been done originally by hand in a very neat hand. A scarce genealogical tree of the families of Stonewall Jackson and of his two wives, Elinor Junkin and Mary Anna Morrison of North Carolina.

Staunton, Virginia: Press of Caldwell-Sites Company, 1908. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavo. 336 pages. Hardcover bound in 3/4 brown leather with brown marbled paper-covered boards. The binding is worn but sound. The leather is starting to get dry but is still holding. There is a little splitting to the leather on the rear outer hinge near the foot of the spine. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Untrimmed fore edge has some brown stains that stay on the edges of the margins. A couple of handwritten dates are written in pencil on the last page of text. Contains several illustrations, mostly portraits.

New York: Home Publishing Company, 1903. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo. 147 pages. Hardcover in grey cloth with front cover designs embossed in dark brown and gilt. The binding is quite rubbed and worn. The front board has damping. Rear board has smudges and scuffs. Some pages are damped have smudging. Text is foxed. No copyright date, but the book was published in 1903. An early owner's inscription on front flyleaf reads, "To Thomas (?) from Katherine Kelby. / Feb. 19, 1905." We have found a listing of this book for sale in the December, 1903 advertisements of "The Theosophical Forum." The advertisement in that journal of this book states, "The dawn of a new day in the intellectual and spiritual development of the child. These stories, which embody the higher laws of being, are so simply told that the youthful mind can easily comprehend them. Between each story is an exquisite 'Moonlight Lullaby.'" Hardcover bound in early quarter leather with green and tan marbled paper-covered boards. The binding is rubbed and worn but sound. The leather spine is solid. Rubbing along the edges of the binding, and the corners are bumped and worn to the boards beneath. Hinges secure. Complete with 2 front and 2 rear flyleaves. The text is tone and has occasional foxing or staining but overall is quite acceptable. Text is in German. This work does NOT contain scored music. A rough translation of the title is, "Spiritual Songs: With an Appendix, Consisting of Spiritual and Comforting Songs, by Various Poets." A nice early 19th Century Harrisburg, Pennsylvania imprint.

A decent copy.

The white cloth spine is foxed and the spine is toned and the spine gilt a bit dulled. A sound copy with secure hinges. Text is clean. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. Signed on the back side of the frontis by William Lanier Hunt. William Lanier Hunt (1906-1996) was the "Dean of Southern Horticulture." He donated land along the Morgan Creek in southern Orange County, NC to the North Carolina Botanical Garden and is now known as the Hunt Arboretum.

Text is toned but generally clean with a bit of foxing near the photographic plates. Complete with the folding map at the rear. The map has some brief tears at the edges of the folds. Quite scarce.
