London: Dean & Son, 1930s). Hardcover. Very Good. Pop-ups (4 large double page scenic illustrations in color) + 20 b/w illustrations after Walt Disney.. Quarto glazed pictorial boards (marginal paper loss to one corner/rubbed to hinges at head and foot for 1cm) fine doublepage colored endpapers 48pp. A very crisp very clean copy with 4 pop-ups in very good condition.

3 spring ups detached but still there - a couple pieces of tape used. Last one top layer of paper off on illustration of curtain and wallpaper. Book has seperated from spine and is taped together. Rubbed corner/hardcover. Small amount of crayon marks on top of cover. I have more..............

New York: Blue Ribbon Press. Very Good+. 1934. Hardcover. 23.5 x 20 cm. Illustrated paper over boards. Light corner and edge wear. Minor soiling and a bit of foxing to covers. A couple of small scratch marks on the back cover. Small bookseller's label on front pastedown endpaper. All three pop-ups working and unrepaired. Soil or fingering marks to margins of a few of the pages, but generally still bright and clean. Could not have passed through too many children's hands. Three colour pop-ups and black and white in-text illustrations. .

Berlin: Herbert Stuffer, 1929. First edition. First edition. Original color pictorial paper covered boards. Famed for its innovative illustration and composition, "The Magic Boat" has become a classic and sought after early 20th Century Illustrated Children's Book. Fully illustrated in color throughout with four pull-tabs on two separate double-moveable color illustrated devices (each comprising two-page assemblies), a moveable hub revealing rabbits and hedgehogs, and the scarce and seldom found original perforated stencil (Nicths als Fruchte) at rear in half-page pouch. Benjamin describes this book as "the most beautiful of all new children's books" (Works III, 211). Cover with tread mark stains, hub intact, all moveables working, a very scarce and important Jugendstil moveable.

London: Dean & Son, 11 Ludgate Hill, 1859. Poor. Stiff card wraps. 4to. Bound in thin card with covers printed in color. 16 pp., printed on one side only, with eight full page hand-colored illustrations showing Punch and Judy, et al., in the upper portion with text and drummer below. Each plate has moveable parts operated by a lever at the foot which operates the movement in the upper window; in addition 3 of the drummers move when the tabs are activated. The drummers on the remaining pages have their arms in the form of tabs which fit into a slit in the page. They are affixed on the other side. There is nothing to suggest that they were ever intended to move. To the best of our knowledge all copies of this title have all puppets movable but only three drummers. It is as though Dean had intended to make them all movable but gave up on the idea. A couple of tiny nicks to the spine ends, birthday inscription in pencil on the first page. About near fine. A nice copy of an uncommon early Mickey Mouse title with the pop-up in immaculate condition. ; 32mo.

P, Dutton & Co., circa 1890, Printed in Bavaria. Black and White Illustrations and 5 folding color Pop-up pages by publisher and printer Ernest Nister (1842-1909) who specialized in colored toy and movable picture books. In addition to the pop-up pages, the book contains Animal Stories by L. L. Weedon, Clifton Bingham, and Ruth Deane with pen and ink illustrations.
No dust jacket. The colored pictorial boards are lightly soiled, have some scratches, and edge wear. The hinges on the front and back boards have been reinforced. All of the pop-ups are original and complete in excellent condition. Some of the tabs have been re-glued or, in a few cases, a new one added for a missing tab.
Overall, a very nice copy of one of the classic, innovative animated books by the famous English publisher Ernest Nister.

United Art Publishing, 1916. Hardcover. Used- Good condition. Book shows shelf wear. Scuffing along the edges and corners of book. Tear on the left middle side (next to the spine). Blotches of slightly darkened stains on the back cover. Writing on the front end-paper. Tear on the top and bottom of the end-paper up against the binding. All pages are intact. No further markings on the inside of the book. The envelope that originally held the stamps is no longer in the book. All 72 stamps are affixed to the corresponding spaces. A pop-up book with six scenes from the Puss in Boots fairy tale. Illustrated in color by Kathleen Hale, famous for her Orlando the Marmalade Cat children's series. The pop-ups are all vibrant, clean, and in good working order. They open up into a decorative "carousel" which can be tied by the blue ribbons bound into the illustrated paper-covered boards. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall .

Brand new in unopened shipping box wrapped in clear storage bag. Extremely rare.

(5.9 x 4.4 inches). xvi, 157pp. Thirteen hand coloured illustrated plates (including extra title page) with movable pull tabs to change the image. An asterisk next to the text tells when the movable should be used to animate the scene. A crease to the top of the half title page and a few minor thumb marks to a handful of leaves, otherwise a very good, fresh and clean copy in the publishers red morocco-grained cloth with blind stamped decorative border to both boards. Gilt lettering to the front board. Coated mid brown endpapers. All edges gilt. A superior copy of this rare movable. First issued in 1831, there was a second issue in 1837 and then this third, circa 1875, with the text printed by Ducessios of Paris. All three printings are rare, and copies in such good condition and with all tabs present and easily workable, as this one even more so. The book contains seven large double-page pop-ups. In addition, on most pages, there are additional envelopes containing small pop-ups, emerald glasses, and other surprises. Even the front board has a door which when opened reveals a pop-up and Robert Sabuda's signature with a handwritten limitation number of 90/200. This limited edition contains an additional pop-up not in the trade edition. A beautiful copy of this scarce Sabuda title.

(cm 33x27,5). An elaborate - very rare - children's movable and pop-up book by the Munich lawyer and author of humourous verse, Franz Bonn (cfr. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Bonn). This complete with four splendid perspective scenes, each with five different levels. The scenes are "The Menagerie", "The Circus", "The Puppet Theater" (with a rotating disc), and "Summer in the Park". With verses by Mrs. Bonn. Klotz I, 592, 4. We could trace just one other copy (Munich, IJB).

Complete series of 6 prospective copperplates engravings (each plate measures ca. mm 200x165) with strictly contemporary hand colouring. Very nice condition.
They scenery-like sheets create a perspective image if arranged one behind the other.
Appreciated by spectators attending from balconies, the view exhibits an extraordinary street circus with various animals: an elephant, bears, savants dogs playing comedies, acrobatic monkeys, etc.; trainers wear sumptuous oriental costumes.
