Father Thomas Conley is the priest in many of the full-color photographs in this missal; photos were taken at St. Peter Canisius Church in Chicago. Red leather binding, cracked. All Masses for Sundays and holydays of obligation are included, according to the liturgy of the 1950s.

A hefty tome in full brown leather with bevelled edges, decorative gilt borders and spine sections, and design in blind in the center of the front and back covers. All edges gilt, coated yellow endpapers, portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard, printed on double-column and with page borders, 100 drawings on wood and 20 drawings in chromo-lithography. The covers are a bit scuffed, the inner hinges cracked, and a handsome gift inscription dated Xmas 1866. The book is solid and internally clean. Contributors include George Cheever, James Montgomery. Full Leather. Fair/No Dust Jacket. No date, though circa mid-late 18th century. 144 leaves (288 pages) on velum leaves, bound in leather. Sinew tied. Mostly black lettering, though with some in red. One full page illustration in color of Madonna and Child. There are a few decorative breaks between sections of text. Written in Ge'ez, an ancient South Semitic language originating in Eritrea and the northern region of Ethiopia. Once the official language of Aksum and Ethiopia, it now remains primarily used in the liturgy of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, and to a lesser degree by the Beta Israel Jewish Community (Wikipedi, 2017). Bottom cover is lacking, though all contents appear present. The first leaf is heavily rubbed and mostly illegible. Remaining contents show age, a little rubbing, and scattered markings, though are clear and legible. A 1915 copy of his limited edition of The Foundation of Religious Fear. This was printed for Hermann Gollancz by Unwin Brothers, Ltd. four years, before the Oxford Press so-called First Edition of 1919, which gives the author of this Hebrew work as Kimchi.This is the True First Edition in English of The Foundation of Religious Fear. In this publication the author is unamed Gollancz calls him, "a poet from the Middle Ages."I have attached three scans to give you an idea of the appearance.Gray boards 9 x 11 inches with gilt title.Oddly the text pages has been cut out with a razor (perhaps to make copies) and the only pages still bound to the cover are the ffep. the full title page, Dedication page and the last endpaper.The 64 pagesof text translated into English are clean no tears but some of the pages have a small number penned on them.

Modern cloth binding with five raised bands, corners slightly rubbed, red morocco title-label with gilt lettering. Internally very clean and unmarked except in a very few cases with minor stains and ink smudges and with very small page tears to 10 pages (repaired), 10 words missing from 4 pages due to tears all have been added in pencil. At the end of the volume there is a 28 page "Alphabetticall Table of the Whole Worke". The final page has a tear with paper loss to the bottom which slightly impacts upon the text.
