Spine chipped, mainly at head, corners rubbed, spotting along top of front board, cover is otherwise in clean bright condition, slight internal separation at title page, owner's name stamped on front free endpaper, contents clean. Letters describing travel in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Germany and Italy in 1872.

Washington, D.C.: Philp & Solomons, 1860. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. x, 239, 16pp ads. Brown embossed cloth, gilt lettering and capitol in gilt, double-page map. Spine slightly sunned, covers otherwise are in very sound condition. Endpapers are lightly foxed and text is age-toned, and has a very occasional spot, binding is tight, map is in clean, crisp condition. Background and descriptions of Washington's buildings and institutions, along with illustrations.

Collection from family trip in 1952 includes original letter from Cunard Line Agents' Bulletin C-16 dated 6/14/52 in very good condition. Two brochures from the Caronia, one artist signature is G.H. Iavis. One book printed in England, one is printed in U.S.A. and the letter is from New York. Minor scratches and wear for the age and the First Class tag for the Cunard White Star Limited to Southampton, First Section is intact with the oriingal string. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 125pp. Pictorial wraps, 2 folding color maps and numerous in text illustrations. Front cover missing, rear cover chipped and missing 2 inch corner piece. Contents are sound, evenly toned and very occasionally lightly foxed. Both folding maps are in very good condition, one has a slight misfold crease. A scarce title by a prolific writer of travel guides and mountain hiking.

This is a scarce, early copy of "Taintor's Route and City Guides" - this particular guide is for "New York to Saratoga, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls, via Hudson River and New York Central Railroads." Published in 1867 by Taintor Brothers in New York. The guide features 20 color maps in all. "With descriptive sketches of the cities, villages, stations, and scenes and objects of interest along the route." There are illustrated advertisements at both the front and back. This is a scarce, antique copy of "Taintor's Route and City Guides" - this particular guide is for the "Pennsylvania Coal Regions via Morris & Essex R.R." Published in 1867 by Taintor Brothers in New York. The guide features 4 color maps; the "Map of the Anthracite Coal Regions of Pennsylvania with Connecting Railways" is larger and folds out. "With sketches of the cities, villages, stations, scenery, and objects of interest along the route." There are illustrated advertisements at both the front and back. Please see the photos for the complete list of contents.Condition:The pages are in great condition - mostly clean and white with no writing and only some very sparse light foxing; tiny tear at the outer edge of page 29. The fold-out map is clean and firmly attached. The covers are present, but have detached from the spine and are separated along the right edge of the spine; creases at the left-hand corners of the front cover; there are a few tiny stain spots on the back cover.
