About This Item
Synopsis
Save Me the Waltz , the only novel by Zelda Fitzgerald, is a semi-autobiographical novel which covers the coming of age of a Southern belle named Alabama Beggs during the Jim Crow era in the deep South. Alabama proceeds to marry David Knight, who becomes a famous painter. However, his success does not equal the couple’s happiness; both become increasingly disillusioned by their marriage. Alabama, searching for something to call her own, becomes a prima ballerina. Unfortunately, her success is cut short by an infection, and the two return to the South, deeply dissatisfied with their lives and marriage.
