New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc.. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 1950. First Edition. Hardcover. 277 p. 21 cm. Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards. Slight wear to the corner tips. Previous owner's name and address on front free endpaper. Inside pages are clean and unmarked, with slight toning. Dust jacket has some wear to the spine ends and corner tips. Soft crease on the spine. A little darkened along the flap edges. Not price clipped. The first novel by American-Canadian award-winning science fiction writer Judith Merril. An anti-Vietnam war protestor, Merril moved to Toronto in the late 1960's where she started an endowment to the Toronto Public Library to purchase a copy of every science fiction published in English. The Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation, and Fantasy at TPL is named after her. .
