The Famous Tragedy of the Queen of Cornwall

Thomas Hardy

ont> Macmillan and Co : London, 1923 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. A beautiful edition of Thomas Hardy's play, 'The Famous Tragedy of the Queen of Cornwall'. This one-act play by Hardy, is one of only two pieces of drama written by the author. Designed for 'mummers' the play was designed to be performed by amateur groups, rather than a large scale theatre production. Includes a facsimile in the author's hand, of the title page. Predominantly a pet and novelist, Hardy only wrote two pieces of drama, one being 'The famous Tragedy of the Queen of Cornwall', the other 'The Dynasts' an epic drama of three parts. Condition: In full cloth binding, with gilt detailing. Externally smart. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and also to the joints and the extremities. Sunning to the spine.
